The Ascent / The Descent

This piece was inspired by the Baroque era and classical era of paintings; displaying a wide array of conflict, emotions, and behavior. Death, comradery, brotherhood, jealousy, hate, rivalry, loyalty, service, success and failure. The tone was meant to be dulled, with the divine light shining on the intertwined conflicted gang of Star Wars Stormtroopers. The gold trimmed red capes reflect the ancient Roman's and help convey a sense of blood flow as it streams downwards from the pinnacle. Do you sacrifice yourself for the cause of the Empire? Or give it freely to your brother in arms? Or take it from the clasp of your rival?
