Description
Take The Mound
Operation Devil Dogs
This poster depicts the iconic battle of Iwo Jima between U.S. forces and the Empire of Japan. Here a squad of 'Devil Dogs' captures the dominating island mound - Mount Suribachi. The term 'Devil Dogs' was a title of honor given to the Marine Corp by the Germans for there intense fighting spirit and has stuck ever since, taking a life unto its own. To solidify the theme and parallel with SWOSU's mascot and the Marine's mascot being a bulldog, SWOSU's official mascot Duke is making his appearance, slobber and all! The background features numerous landing craft speeding towards the black ash shores and two F4U Corsairs flying overhead.
Ooh-rah!

Hey Kyle! I'm the guy holding the flag in the middle. Is there any way I could get a copy of this to download onto my laptop? I have one poster left and it is pretty mangled. You can email me at solidayrjeremy@gmail.com. THANKS!
