On this Independence Day, I took some time out of the festivities to drive like a bandit around the country side with a buddy of mine (~jayschwartz), capturing some shots of the advancing summer storms. This line of thunderstorms produced some wind gusts that kicked up a lot of dust on it's leading edges. There was a time when the dirt blowing across old Route 66 virtually "browned" out all visibility and forced an abrupt stop in fear of running off the road or a possible collision with another vehicle.

Absolutely stunning! :omfg: We don't get those dramatic summer thunderstorm clouds very often out here in California. It's either clear, cloudless skies or overcast, foggy.:no:
